As of 2019, all candidates, including IMGs, can apply directly to the MCCQE Part I without first having to take the MCCEE. Candidates whose application has been accepted are able to schedule their exam appointment online here


Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination Part One (MCCQE 1)

This is an exam which must be completed to continue into postgraduate training in Canada.  Over a full day, this computer-based test assesses your knowledge, clinical skills, and attitudes.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • As a medical student, you can take this exam during the final year of medical school.
  • If you hold a complete set of US licensing examinations (all steps of USMLEs, FLEX, COMLEX, or NBME) you do not need to sit any MCC examinations, including the MCCQE1 and the MCCQE2.
  • A variety of testing centres are located within Canada.
