Suitable Candidate Search
The search for suitable physician candidates is generally a lengthy process that can take from several months to more than a year. Therefore, it is important to start the process early once there is a projected change in physician complement through retirement (or other departures), population increase, or aging. Starting the process early is particularly important when recruiting physicians from another country or province. Keep in mind that working with local, regional, and provincial partners (identified in the Being Prepared section) such as the health authority, Health Match BC, and Family Medicine residency programs, and can play a key role in your search efforts.
